Mercy in Action

  Mercy in Action

In cooperation with Catholic Charities of Southeastern Michigan, Mercy in Action Day of Service brings Catholics and parishes throughout the Archdiocese together to plan activities to help serve people in our communities and those in need.  Activities have included fall clean-up for seniors in our parish, cleaning of city cemeteries, packing care packages for our troops, visiting senior centers, as well as many other activities during October.  We need volunteers to help organize the activities in our vicariate, as well as volunteer in the various activities.

Troops Fundraiser June 8-9, 2019
Flag Tags and Pledge sheets for the boxes for "Troops Need Love Too!" will be in the Gathering Space the weekend of June 8th & 9th.  The money raised will be used for the supplies & postage to be sent to the troops on Mercy in Action Day.  Each box costs approximately $40 to fill and send.

Mercy in Action Day was a huge success on October 20, 2018!

Troops Need Love Too
We packed 250 boxes for the troops! The boxes were sent through the agency "Troops Need Love Too!" to military soldiers in Aghanistan, Iraq & Syria.

Mats for the Homeless
A group of nearly 50 people worked on making Mats for the Homeless by cutting plastic grocery bags, making "plarn" and crocheting the plarn into 4ft x 6ft mats.  Thus far we have delivered 8 mats to St. Aloysius for their homeless ministry.

Coffeehouse Drive
We collected nearly 40lbs. of candy and raised $200 to help defray costs of the coffeehouse which serves intellectually disabled in the Tri-county area.
