Mercy in Action

  Mercy in Action

In cooperation with Catholic Charities of Southeastern Michigan, Mercy in Action Day of Service brings Catholics and parishes throughout the Archdiocese together to plan activities to help serve people in our communities and those in need.  Activities have included fall clean-up for seniors in our parish, cleaning of city cemeteries, packing care packages for our troops, visiting senior centers, as well as many other activities during October.  We need volunteers to help organize the activities in our vicariate, as well as volunteer in the various activities.

Mercy in Action Day will be October 20, 2018!

Sign up in the Gathering Space on September 22-23, 2018 to volunteer for one of the many Mercy in Action projects, including

  • Packing Boxes for the Troops
  • Fall Clean-up at Carmelite Monastery
  • Making Mats for the Homeless
  • Eucharistic Adoration praying for those serving during the day and those being served

Mercy in Action Day was a huge success on October 14, 2017!

Troops Need Love Too
We packed 250 boxes for the troops, including 9 members of our Military Prayer List!

Candy Collection
A candy collection for the Seminarians to pass out candy on Halloween took place.  We collected 35 bags (1200 pieces) of candy.

Coffeehouse Drive
Raised $500 to help defray costs of the coffeehouse which serves intellectually disabled in the Tri-county area.
