Panera Ministry

In the spirit of our parish mission the purpose of the Panera Bakery Donation Ministry is to...

  • assure that unsold bakery items are put to good use rather than thrown away
  • provide an opportuinity for parish members to put their faith in action by providing food for those who are hungry

Guiding Scripture:  James 2:14-17, adapted

My friends, what good is it for one of you to say you have faith if your actions do not prove it?  Can that faith save you?  Suppose that there are people who don't have enough to eat.  What good is there in your saying to them "God Bless you! Eat well!"  - unless you do something to help.  So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.

In response to the scriptures we provide available bakery items for a varity of needs:

  • St. Vincent de Paul families in need
  • Upcoming parish events
  • SENIORS group
  • Coffee House
  • St. Aloysius homeless stree ministry
  • Soup Kitchen Ministry
  • Salvation Army meals and outreach

Volunteer Commitment

Volunteers assist on Monday mornings at 9:00am, one or more weeks per month by:

  • sorting and packaging bakery items
  • designating where items will be distributed
  • storing and/or delivering items as needed

If you would like to volunteer or would like more information contact the parish office at 977-8080.
