Serving our community.

Mercy in Action.

In cooperation with the Catholic Charities of Southeastern Michigan, Mercy in Action Day of Service brings Catholics and parishes throughout the Archdiocese together to plan activities to help serve people in our communities and those in need. Activities have included fall clean-up for seniors in our parish, cleaning city cemeteries, making care packages for our troops, visiting senior centers, and more!

We need volunteers to help organize and staff the activities in our vicariate. If you are interested in participating, call the Parish Office at 586-977-8080.

Past events.

Mercy in Action Day 2022 over 1.5 tons of food was collected and donated to the local Vietnam Veterans of America Food Pantry

Mercy in Action Day was a huge success on October 26, 2019!

Troops Need Love Too: We packed 200 boxes for the troops! The boxes were sent through the agency "Troops Need Love Too!" to military soldiers overseas.

Mats for the Homeless: A group of nearly 30 people made mats for the homeless by cutting plastic grocery bags, making "plarn," and crocheting the plarn into four by six foot mats. Thus far, we have delivered 40 mats to St. Aloysuis for their homeless ministry.

Coffeehouse Drive: We collected nearly 40 pounds of candy and raised $200 to help defray costs of the Knights of Columbus coffehouse, which serves intellectually disabled individuals in the tri-county area.
