Music Ministry.

St. Jane Frances de Chantal welcomes all who wish to participate in our Music Ministry. Opportunities for singers and instrumentalists are plentiful, no matter what your level of expertise. If you enjoy music, singing, or playing an instrument for the Lord, you are welcome here.

Each weekend liturgy may feature different musicians or music styles based on performer availability.

St. Jane Frances Parish Choir

The Parish Choir invites singers ages 14 and above of all experience levels. The choir meets regularly from September through May. Usual schedule includes Wednesday night rehearsal from 7:00pm to 8:30pm, and 9:00am. Sunday Mass with 8:30am group warm-up immediately prior. Choristers are also asked to participate at additional Masses on major feast days, e.g. All Saints & All Souls, Immaculate Conception, Christmas, etc.

Cantor Program

If you wish to cantor, please see Madeleine after Mass or contact her at the parish office or via email. Knowledge of music and the ability to prepare independently is preferred. Cantors can sign up for Masses as available, and are asked to rehearse the Wednesday prior at 6:00pm.

Instruments in Praise (IIP)

We welcome anyone who plays an instrument to join us in worship. IIP normally plays the first and third Saturdays of the month at 4:00pm Mass, with a brief rehearsal immediately prior at 3:00pm. Music selections are provided in advance to allow for independent preparation.

Treble Choir

Treble choir welcomes singers ages 7-13 of all experience levels. Rehearsals take place seasonally for select Masses throughout the year, including Christmas Eve and Palm Sunday. Rehearsals are Saturday mornings from 10:45am-12:00pm. Please email MusicMinistry@sjfparish.org for more information about this year’s calendar.

Bell Choir

Bell Choir rehearses most Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm., and plays at the 9:00am Sunday Mass. For more information, please contact Fawn Kopas by calling the parish office at 586-977-8080. Family members of all ages are welcome and encouraged to participate.
