Providing food for the hungry.

Panera Ministry.

In the spirit of our parish mission, the Panera Bakery Donation Ministry ensures that unsold bakery items are put to good use, rather than thrown away. The Panera Ministry provides an opportunity for parish members to put their faith in action by providing food for those who are hungry.

If you would like to volunteer, or would like more information, call the Parish Office at 586-977-8080.

Our guiding Scripture.

“My friends, what good is it for one of you to say you have faith if your actions do not prove it? Can that faith save you? Suppose that there are people who don't have enough to eat. What good is there in your saying to them ‘God Bless you! Eat well!’—unless you do something to help. So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.” —James 2:14-17, adapted

In response to the Scripture, we provide available bakery items for a variety of needs:

  • St. Vincent de Paul families in need

  • Upcoming parish events

  • SENIORS group

  • Coffee House

  • St. Aloysius homeless street ministry

  • Salvation Army meals and outreach

Volunteer commitment.

Volunteers assist on Monday mornings at 9:00am one or more weeks per month by sorting and packaging bakery items, designating where items will be distributed, and storing or delivering items as needed.

Volunteers are also needed to pick up the donations at Panera on Sunday evenings at 8:30pm and bring them to the church on Monday mornings before 9:00am, one or more weeks per month.
