Helping Mass run smoothly.

Sacristans

A sacristan sets up the altar, sacred vessels, and other items necessary for the celebration of the weekend and Holy day Masses, coordinates the distribution of the Eucharist at Communion time, and sees that everything is purified, cleansed, and returned to its proper place after Mass. A sacristan needs only to understand the liturgy and have a desire to serve. Procedures are documented and training is arranged. Sacristans are scheduled one or two times per month, depending on the number of ministers available.
